Herbalife

Prom season is already here and the body that I've aspired for years is not in sight so I took matters into my own hands and asked my parents to sign me up for a ten day detox plan. This detox plan from Herbalife is my last resort to have that prom dress ready body. I hope that this will give me great results. I have my fingers crossed. I am going to update you on my journey so stay tuned.

Sorry :(

It has been months since my last post and I am sorry for that. I had been busy and school was eating up my time. Exams and activities filled my whole schedule and my extra time was spent resting. I am going to update you on the new products that I am using very soon so stay tuned!

A Senior's Life in HS (part1)

Life as a senior in high school is hard. Everything is happening and time seems to be your enemy. You have a lot of assignments to pass and exams to study for and the dreaded college entrance tests. Eyebags, pimples, dull skin, dry patches, etc. can be seen all over my once immaculate face. I feel bad for letting my skin suffer. That is why I made a pact to myself that I will start eating healthier and to take care of my skin more. I won't let this senior life ruin my skin.

Update on Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash

Sadly, the Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash did not live up to my expectations. It caused me to breakout after a week of using it. I had huge zits all over my face. People noticed that my skin wasn't as clear as before and that the acne left marks on my face. I hope that Human Nature does something with their Nourishing Facial Wash. I went back to my old facial wash and my skin thankfully went back to its clear, acne-free state. Now, I'm trying to find new products to help erase/lighten the acne scars/marks on my face.

Review on Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash

I wanted to change my facial wash which was the Neutrogena Mild Facial Cleanser because it was a bit drying for me. I decided to go all natural this time so I decided to use the Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash because of the many positive reviews about it online. So, on with the review.

Review on Dior Addict Lip Glow

My mom and dad bought this product for me last Decemeber while we were buying stuff in Dutyfree. The sales lady said that this product would be great for me because its suitable for teens or for people who do not want to use sticky lip gloss or lipsticks. So, on with the review.

New Mixture That I Use for My Dry Scalp and Hair

Lately my scalp and my hair has been acting up due to the humidity and high temperature here in my country and the fact that summer is already here. I've been browsing through a lot of beauty blogs that offer hair care stuff using the items found in your garden or your cup boards. So, after all the "researching" that I've been doing I found a new hair/scalp mixture that will help with my dry/frizzy scalp and hair. On to the mixture:

Ingredients:
*Aloe Vera
*Honey (Raw Honey to be exact)
*Sesame Oil

Procedure:
*For my hair length I put in a blender the gel of my aloe vera plant. I usually use 3-4 leaves of it because I want my mixture to have a kick of the aloe vera goodness.
*After putting the gel in the blender I put 2 tbsp. of raw honey and 1 tbsp. of sesame oil.
*I blend the mixture until it turns runny.
*Then, I put it on my scalp and slowly work it to the strand of my hair until I reach the tips.
*I leave the mixture on for about 30 min.-1 hour and wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner.
*You're finished!

Side notes:
*If you do not have sesame oil try using olive oil.
*If your hair is short or very long (I have medium length hair) try changing the quantities of the ingredients so that it will suit the length of your hair.
*Keep in mind that if you have any allergic reactions to one or more of the ingredients listed do not by any means use this on your head.

Review on Maybelline Crayon Liner

Crayon Liner
cosmetix.com

I bought this eyeliner two weeks ago for an event in school where some of us were required to use eyeliner. I didn't try this eyeliner before buying it because I was in a hurry to leave the mall. All I did was ask the sales lady of the Maybelline counter if they had a pencil eyeliner. She handed it to me and I paid for it without testing the product on my hand. So on to the product...

What the product promises to buyers:
*waterproof
*smudgeproof
*long-lasting
*blendable
theprojectawesome.net

Pros:
*It has a cap on for hygienic purposes.
*The product is cheap. (149php)
*The color payoff is great. (very black)
*Very blendable.

Cons:
*It is not long-lasing, smudgeproof or even waterproof on my lids.
*It transfers easily when I use it on my upper lids. (I have asian eyes)
*The product does not set well when I apply it on my waterline. It tends to give me raccoon eyes.
*The pencil eyeliner is quite short and does not have enough product like other pencil eyeliners in the market.

Overall: I do not recommend that you buy this but if you want to you could test it if it has a different outcome for you but based on my experience I will not repurchase in the near future unless they change their formulation for this product.

Summer Countdown!

SUMMER is the only time when students can have "freedom". It's the only time when you won't have to wake up early(except if you have summer classes) and the only time you can do the things you want. I've been waiting for the end of my classes and the start of my summer vacation. I am so excited! 8 days left to go before school ends. I can't wait! Hurry SUMMER!!!! (three cartwheels)

Review on Liquid Neutrogena Pure Mild Cleanser

I have been using Neutorgena's Liquid Pure Mild Cleanser for three months now. It's an "okay" product. It didn't make a huge difference on my face in terms of hyperpigmentation spots, acne breakouts now and again, etc. It also stings my eyes whenever I try to clean my eyelids and it's a bit drying if you don't use a moisturizer after (moisturize to avoid dryness). So on with the review, shall we.

www.healthybeautycircle.com

    Pros:

*mild when used on face and neck (a bit similar to Cetaphil)
*lathers but not too much
*liquid syrupy consistency
*affordable
*suitable for all skin types (as stated on the container)
*the product lasts for a long time
*cleans the face well (but to be on the safe side use a makeup remover before using this in removing your makeup)

   Cons:
*stings the eyes if used on eyelids
*should moisturize after using this (not good for lazy people)
*a bit drying

Note: This can be a good starter cleanser for teens because the formulation that the cleanser has is mild (a bit like cetaphil but it's stronger than cetaphil in my opinion). But remember that not all skin types can use this so buy the small tube and see if it will cause any side effects on your face.

Aloe Vera for my Scalp

Everybody experiences hair fall but there are times when we see clumps of hair on the floor and suddenly worry and anxiety start to kick in. Questions suddenly come up to us. Why am I losing so much hair? Is my new shampoo/conditioner suitable for my scalp? Will I have bald spots because of this? Well, stop all the fuss and find an aloe vera plant ASAP! It is proven that aloe vera can help with hair growth. Most of the hair growing shampoos, conditioners and hair treatments have it in their ingredients list. I've been using aloe vera on my scalp for a year know as a weekly sometimes a monthly thing. It helped a lot when I started to lose uncontrollable amounts of hair. It was horrendous! The stress from my school life was packing in and also the late hours I've spent in studying, making my homework/projects, etc. I noticed that the aloe vera gel/juice inside of the plant helped a lot in making the hair on my scalp grow back. You should try it. But as a precaution I am only a student and have no medical license. So please, visit your doctor to be on the safe side and don't use aloe vera if you are allergic to it.

Blog Renovation

I hope you like the new face of my blog. I wanted to change its look because  I want something new for my blog this year and I am currently obsessed with the color blue. I even had my room painted blue this year (BLUE!!!! :D). I also would like to thank all the readers of my blog. Thanks for the time you've given into reading all of the stuff here. Peace out!

REALIZATIONS-HS Life: A Few Weeks Before The End of My Junior Year

A lot of my friends and cousins told me that I should make the most out of my junior year because this is the last year of 'freedom'. Technically next school year would be hell for me. Why???? Because of all the pressure/s of succeeding in your college entrance exams, the pain of keeping your grades up ('no' to failures), the sacrifices you have to do to pass high school (late nights, hell week, burnout, etc.). I cringe at the very thought of all the hardships that I might encounter but I am a person that does not give up easily. Bring it on! (Oh Lord, please help me!!!!!)

~Off Topic: Band Obsessions~

I've been a fan of rock bands since I was in the fourth grade. It was like an obsession for me to look for new bands to listen to. Right now, I am obsessed with two bands named The Maine and This Century. Technically I 've been a fan since my first year of high school and their music depicts a lot of moments in my life. What I love is most of their songs speak to me personally and I love that I can listen to their cds (I prefer cds than itunes sorry :P) whenenver I need a bit of soul-searching. They've been with me throughout the hard times(especially through stressful times in high school) so I love these bands to pieces. Another plus factor is their lead singers are terribly hot (not kidding). So check them out!

Honey Facial Mask

I've been doing honey facial masks since summer. So far so good. After applying the honey to my face my face seemed to lighten. I had fewer breakouts too after applying honey. Honey is known for its antimicrobial properties so maybe that's why my breakouts had been lessening. Use the most raw honey with no additives or preservatives to give you a positive result!

Why You Shouldn't Exfoilate Everyday?

www.elemis.com
A lot of people have debated on this topic. Some say you need to exfoliate your skin everyday in order to keep it fresh and clean and free from dead skin. Others say dead skin can come off even if you do not exfoliate daily and that exfoliating strips your body of its natural moisture.
Exfoliating in my opinion should be dona at least three times a week especially if you play sports. Why? I experienced not scrubbing for days and I felt icky. I mean to think of all the sweat, dirt and grime that stuck on me. I felt nauseous. The once a week rule do not seem to apply to me. Learn to know what the limitations of your skin are. Try to adapt to it so that you can have a better skin care regime. Do what you feel comfortable with but also look for tips from online sources and your dermatologist.
